db Brasserie Las Vegas

We were invited to a chef's tasting this last trip at db Brasserie inside The Venetian. We were very excited when we received the invitation, but the actual experience exceeded our anticipated expectations. db Brasserie is Chef Daniel Boulud’s contemporary French restaurant located in the interior walking corridor between the The Palazzo and The Venetian

The first thing we wanted to mention was the service. As you may figure, since we are Vegas bloggers, we tend to receive above average service at any of the restaurants we try. However, there was something special about the service and the staff at db Brasserie.

From the moment we walked in until the final plate and silverware were removed, we experienced and noticed first class service from each of the many servers and staff we encountered. Our waiter made sure we understood the menu and the Sommelier was perfectly pairing all our dishes with wines from all over the world. But here's the catch...

Since our service was so over the top impressive, we both paid attention to the other tables around us and noticed that the same great service was being afforded to those customers as well. Matt even got up and took the long way to the restroom and noticed that every table was being treated like ours. Well done db Brasserie for providing excellent service to all your patrons.

Since this was a Chef's tasting we got to try and enjoy many of their dishes. We started with the Grilled Mediterranean Octopus. While Matt is a fan of these types of dishes, Brandy is not. Let's just say that Brandy ate just as much of this delicate dish as Matt did. It was superb!

Next, Matt request the East & West Coast Oysters. It was three oysters from the Atlantic and three from the Pacific. Very clever and very tasty. Matt preferred the East Coast selection the best.

The salad selected for our table was the Apple, Pear & Endive Salad. This was a highlight of the meal. Everything was fresh and the buttermilk blue cheese dressing was perfect. We could have both eaten an entire portion!

Both our entrees where the Crispy Duck Confit. Neither one of us had ever had this particular dish so it was exciting to try something new. We both agreed that is was a fabulous entree which was perfectly cooked and plated. It's something we'd never order without their recommendation and we are so glad we did. We highly recommend this dish when you visit, you will not be disappointed!

The atmosphere was the perfect setting for either a romantic dinner for two or a business dinner for a group. They have a huge selection of wine so don't hesitate to put their wine menu to the test. Everything was first class and all the details were covered. We look forward to our next opportunity to eat at db Brasserie!

Thank you Chef Daniel!
