Palms Resort Casino

The Palms Resort Casino is located off the Strip and has a unique personality of it's own. We stayed here in October of 2014 after finding some very reasonable room rates. While we were a little skeptical about staying here, we are really glad we did.

Our perception was that his property is only for young people in their early 20's. While that may be somewhat true, we found the property very friendly to us who are in our mid and late 30's. They do market their late night bars and pool parties very agressively, but we found a property that we really enjoyed. Please note, the main reason we enjoyed our experience at the Palms was because of the staff we encountered.

We arrived very early (around 9:00am) and the room we had reserved was not ready, nor did we expect it to be. The young lady at the front desk took our cell phone number and said she would call us when it was ready. So we checked our bags and went off to explore this new property. Within 10 minutes the young lady called and said she had our room ready, however, if we were willing to wait, she could offer a complementary upgrade, which we did not mind waiting for. Right after lunch, she called and had a wonderful room ready for us, so we headed that way and checked in to our room.

Our room at the Palms was wonderful. It was one of their newly renovated rooms that faced the Las Vegas Strip. The bed was very comfortable, all the amenities you could image were available, and yes, there were mirrors on the ceiling above the bed. We felt very millennial! Our room rate was $59 per night and the room was easily worth 3 times that amount. We ate dinner at a restaurant called Simons, which has since closed and enjoyed a late night snack in their food court.

We do want to echo our experience with the staff. Besides the reservation desk, the promotional desk was very friendly, making sure we understood how their players club worked while we played slots. The floor manager found us and introduced himself, and while we are not big gamblers, made us feel welcome and showed us how a few of their new games worked. Their slot attendants and their cocktail waitresses went over and above making us feel appreciated that we had chosen the Palms.

Would be stay there again, absolutely. We recommend that you check it out if you are looking for an alternative to the Strip or Downtown.
