Vegas Indoor Skydiving

Matt and I have been wanting to try indoor skydiving for a while! We finally got to go and here is what we know!

Would we visit again?

Planning on it! Everyone we've told about our skydiving adventure have added it to their list for their next Vegas vacation.

What was the best part?

Brandy says: Zan our instructor, he was the best!

Matt says: It was the coolest experience to float in the air!

What you wouldn’t know, unless we told you:

It’s located just a quick cab away from the Las Vegas Strip. We were so excited! We are both “scared” of heights, and neither one of us would ever willingly jump out of a plane, so we thought this was our best chance to experience skydiving.

When you walk in and check in, they weigh you and see how tall you are, to make sure they have a suit that will work for you. Everything has to be emptied from your pockets, no jewelry, etc., but they do provide free lockers and locks if you need to use them.

Once your class is called, you head upstairs to watch a quick safety video, learn a few hand signals from the instructor and sign a waiver. Then you get your suit on, goggles and helmet! If you forget to wear closed toe shoes, they have socks and shoes they can provide.

Next it’s time to head into the “fan” room! It’s a padded circle shaped room with an extremely large fan at the bottom. Our instructor Zan was AWESOME!!! He did a great job teaching us and then “letting us fly!”.

I was extremely nervous to take the jump, but he encouraged me and off I went! You each get a few times to fly. The first time, they turn the fan off, you lay on your stomach on the floor and they slowly turn the fan on, and with the help of the instructor, up you go. The second and third time, you just jump right in. The instructor is their to help you keep your position if you need it, or to fly along with you!

Vegas Indoor Skydiving is the first of it's kind ever in the USA. Built in 1982, it actually has a DC-3 airplane propeller which operates over 1,000 horsepower! Hold on to your hat becasue the windspeed can go up to 120 MPH!

At the end of your time, you can go see and purchase pictures and even a video from your flight! It was really such a fun rush! Remember to leave your jewelry at home and bring your closed toe shoes. Plus, a second flight is only $40!

Vegas Indoor Skydiving is a must every time you visit Vegas!
